Shevantrao Gaikwad, a resident of Umarkhed taluka, initiated his journey in social work in 2005 through Gnandeep Sanstha. As he immersed himself in various organizations' activities, his understanding and experience grew. Inspired by the impactful water-focused initiatives of Dr. Prakashji and Dr. Vikasji Amte, as well as Madhukarji Dhas, the founder of Dilasa, Shevantrao felt compelled to contribute to society. This led to the establishment of Adarsh Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha in 2010, aligning with the ideals of Babasaheb.
Adarsh Sanstha, born out of the aspiration to address societal issues, commenced its social work in 2010. The organization's initial focus centered on the social, economic, and skill development of women, historically relegated to a secondary position in society. Launching a movement that encompassed 760 women's organizations in Umarkhed taluka, Adarsh Sanstha embarked on empowering women economically.
The organization pioneered women's empowerment by providing training and support in various fields, including flower farming, sugarcane cultivation, vegetable farming, spice production, papad and kurudaya making, agarbatti production, candle making, tailoring, and beauty parlors. Through these initiatives, Adarsh Sanstha sought to uplift and empower women, realizing the vision of contributing to the welfare and holistic development of society.
